Daily Kos got this headline exactly correct, unlike many MSM outlets. Habba can't "resign" a government position she was not legally allowed to hold. She "vacated" the US attorney seat.
Unqualified Trump stooge finally vacates US attorney seat
Alina Habba, we hardly knew ya. Well, actually, we completely knew you, which is why you’re out of your U.S. attorney job , and it looks like it’s for good this time. Yes, Alina Habba ...

Truly a pittance, by government standards, to ensure that every American can send and receive mail to/from anyone in the world.
I'll say again: we are oddly selective about the government services about which we will say, they operate at a loss.

We say Amtrak and the post office "lose money" but we never say highways, the court system, the Pentagon, etc lose money
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Much like other combat veterans, this man suffered as a result of his wartime experiences. Unfortunately, like others returning from war, he did not receive enough mental health support to overcome his darkness. It's not an excuse for his abhorrent actions, just part of the underlying explanation.

People think tyrants rage because they're strong.

But the truth is they only rage when they know the room will absorb it.

Mamdani didn't absorb it.
So Trump didn't rage.

Fear is the oxygen of authoritarianism.

Take it away, and even a strongman starts to sound like a man.

This analysis by Bruce Fanger is THE best explanation I've read regarding Trump's approach to exercising power, the focus in this case being the recent meeting with Zohran Mamdani.

Brooks thinks nobody's addressing major issues because they're consumed with the Epstein files? That's laughable. Simple truth...Republicans aren't interested in solving problems.

Most of us want Epstein files released so powerful people know they will be held accountable for preying on children.
Brooks, who positions himself as the great empath, issues a cynical dismissal of the Epstein story and defense of elites, ignoring the victims and his accomplices.

@nytimes.com conveniently says it focuses not on numbers, but on content. Sorry, but in a democracy, the numbers count. NYT doesn't need to provide crowd estimates. Just provide some aerial photos at peak and let readers judge for themselves. How hard is that for America's "newspaper of record"?

The Fed, rightly I think, lowered rates a quarter-point. Inflation, aside from what's essentially locked in as a one-time hit from tariffs, is tame, while the job market has gotten soft. Hopefully, this and the additional guidance suggesting two more cuts this year will help stabilize jobs picture.

What this phrase says about Trump's presidency?

It's both true and false, in the worst sense of each. True because his actions are so awful that no previous president would consider acting that way. False because the results of his actions are so dramatically opposite to the rosy picture he paints.
