Yeah, in the sweet spot of added depth (mechanical and new Pokémon) before getting too messy and overwhelming, and with really nice advanced graphics for the later DS generations, lots of good QoL stuff.

I don't know if I mentioned this but I'm having an absolutely brilliant time playing Pokémon, I'm spending all my time learning about the competitive metagame and making extremely long team composition lists. Might be the best game ever.

I think it's a sophisticated bot which manages to get this exact tone so correctly, and I'm not sure what the purpose of it would be either. Occam's Razor says it's just strange people imo.

If you know basic kabbalah it's actually not too hard to make a golem out of a labubu. Don't recommend it though. They have a pre-existing body-dharma. As soon as they wake they run straight for the sea. V hard to counter. Lost the first one. No idea what it's doing out there. Moved like lightning.

caught my vampire neighbor creeping through my front door. he claims my saying “for sure dude, we should definitely hang out sometime” the other night counts as an invitation, but I disagree. we’re on hold with the etiquette hotline

people say bluesky is full of Twitter refugees but increasingly I struggle to see how that can be true, if you were on Twitter you at least have some understanding of what social media is and how it works. the Discover repliers on this website genuinely seem to be in their first day on the internet.

My favorite Jordan Peterson thing is how he styles himself a Master of Narrative who has a deep understanding of How Stories Work, and yet he didn't understand fundamental plot mechanics of the movie "Frozen". time.com/5176537/jord...

up at 4:30am today (for most of you people it's still yesterday) because I met some locals in a pub who want to take me to a hill tribe at dawn to watch the sunset over the mountains and drink coffee they grew. which sounds nice doesn't it?

obviously lots of it was still funny and if this was a debut author I'd be saying okay buster, I enjoyed that, let's see what you've got. but as his "twerking for an adaptation" piece it's a bit of a mess imo

maybe but it's pure negligence. when they're in that interminable flashback house sequence, everyone gets some backstory, Baptiste is just....missed off? what? she keeps disappearing for whole sections and then reappears with some plot. and then she kicks it. wtf is going on. something in the edit.

also - sorry - do we really have to endure another weathered, world-weary warrior who is stuck fighting the same battle with no enthusiasm because it is the only skill he has, it's his whole identity, he doesn't know himself without a sword, and actually doesn't he maybe like it a bit?

I was gonna list other spooky animals but the same applies to them too really. chalk one up for the anthropological "scary stories are meant to teach us real lessons" crowd.

a little grating and also quite bad characterisation because even illiterate barbarians are doing "sooo....that just happened" lines for the sake of the repartee. Sunny also swings between mute PTSD and zingers. I thought it was really quite shit actually, by his standards.

not sure if it's just because I hold him to a high standard but I found some of it really laughably peremptory. Vigge is the only one that got any interesting, in-depth treatment at all. Some of them had essentially no internal lives at all. Deus Ex Baron, Baptiste. Found the relentless quipping
