I am having my first Dubai chocolate experience in dessert form on the train home and it is INTENSE. I am 2/3 through, it took me 30 min to get here. I will finish it, I have another 2 hours ro go, but damn this is rich.

Currently on a train down to the city, and a critter is nearby talking in depth to their travel companion about the m9 and wildmount wildlings. A good omen!

I've been working since March on doing a Monster High doll mod to turn G3 Abbey into Triona from my comic! She's way too tall, but her face and body were spot on.

Anyone attending NYCC for fun thursday??

So in the end, she was still quite expensive. Purchased items: Mr Super Clear (TWICE), filtered mask for using it, skin pastel, white paint for eyes, varnish for gloss, sandpaper, several watercolor pencils, doll hair, rooting tool, doll shoes, disposable eyeliner sticks, beading needles, hair glue.

MEANWHILE, the pastel on her feet was bubbling up and chipping off. I don't know why. I tried to fix it, but it looked bad, so I needed to give her shoes. So I had to go against my rules about buying stuff because I don't know how to make shoes. So I picked up these Abbey shoes to paint and decorate

If I had to do a full body pastel job again, the hair would have to be a separate wig that got attached later. Once face was done, it was time to style hair. I gave her some braids which I sewed into place like the ancient greeks to hide her horns, and then have her some jewelry.

My friend and I spend the next several months rerooting hair. I didn't want to do her face before that because I thought the hair implanting might chip off the "paint" on the face, and it absolutely did that. I couldn't make it smooth after that, so when i was ready for face, it was ELABORATE.

Before rerooting, I thought I would do the skin color first. I didn't want to use paint, because of brush strokes, so I went with pastels and Mr. Super Clear spray. It took a little over a day to get here. For the teal dress I did the saran wrap x masking tape pattern method for the first time!

When I was purchasing her online, I thought her hair was closer to white and I could just use it as it for Triona's extremely blond hair, but it was quite blue in person, so I had to do the extra expense of rerooting.

This was the Abbey I started from. I sanded off the fur on her arms and legs to start. When I went to make her clothes and accessories, I wanted to only use supplies that I already had on hand. The flower cape was made from extra flowers I'd saved from a Fearne cape I made a year or two ago.

It was a big learning experience with several tribulations along the way. I randomly watched a video of someone doing up a doll's face and she made it seem SO approachable, I went, hey, I could do that.

I don't think text has to be in all caps all the time. It just doesn't really matter to me either way it's typed. I'm sorry I'm sorry please don't kill me
