Hibiscus Tea is out today!

26 poems of love, loss, and what was brewed among the leaves.
Hibiscus Tea by Jared Leys front cover. A green with white stripes tea cup sits on a reddish-purple background. The tea bag tag has a hibiscus flower. The steam rising from the cup is covered in black scribbles, as if it was covered over. The title is set in this darkness. The author’s name is below the cup.

And so October begins, bringing with it a chill in the bones. How about some music to help set the mood? Today's song helps you wonder how much noise is good noise. Please enjoy...It Will Come Back.

John's calves burned with each step, and a sharp pain pierced his abdomen. As he neared the safety of daylight, the sound of webbed feet slapping concrete grew louder. He risked a look over his shoulder, and found himself staring directly into the beady eyes of fate. He screamed.

The October Music is coming! As a reminder, I write a 500-word spooky story based only off of a song title EVERY MORNING in the month of October. If you have a title you'd like me to use, drop it here. I'm also considering just using the catalog of one artist, so if there's an artist, let me know!

That’s really cool. There’s a house in my neighborhood that does something similar. It’s neat to see the ducks out in the yard when I’m out for a walk
jaredleys.bsky.social
That’s awesome! Did you have them on a farm?

I didn’t take this photo (see the credit in the post), but I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Updated version based on the feedback I received.
The tables were filled with taco ingredients of every variety. Corn tortillas, flour tortillas. Ground beef, carne asasa, tilapia, grilled chicken, vegetarian chorizo, pulled pork. Onions, cilantro, tomatoes, lettuce, radishes, bell peppers, chili peppers, avocados, black beans, refried beans, rice, corn. Cheddar, cotija, pepper jack, warm queso. Red hot sauce, green hot sauce, red mild sauce, green mild sauce, sour cream, spicy mayonnaise, pico de gallo, guacamole. And last but not least, much to Marv's allay, a fresh box of hard taco shells.

I mean, it makes sense when I think about it. (And that looks delicious.)

Can’t believe I forgot cilantro.

Radishes though? I mean, I don’t see why not. Adding them now.
