Stability and predictability is key to sustainable growth. And to riding out economic recessions.
We're certainly not perfect, but we have put a lot of thought into how to make living in the Commonwealth actually work. 3/fin
Healthcare encourages productivity by employees (fewer sick days, fewer care days for sick family members.
Education creates more higher paying jobs.
Level and predictable business taxes encourages businesses to locate here, employ here, and remain here. 2/n
It was Mike Dukakis who convinced us that we could have anything we wanted, if we could figure out how to pay for it.
We try very hard to prioritize economic multipliers; infrastructure encourages business. 1/n
The Millionaire's tax funds the universal free breakfast and lunch program at schools statewide (among many other things).
Massachusetts' schools are already quite well funded; we tend to rank between 1st and 3rd against the rest of the country (constantly changing places with VT, CT and NJ).
Exactly. Public parks every few blocks, MBTA transit, the Esplanade, et cetera.
When certain midwestern family members ask if we'll retire to Florida, I always say, "no, more likely to a highrise in Boston or Cambridge."
Many years ago, my niece was visiting from Missouri, and she commented about "so many things are free!"
I replied that we paid for public playgrounds every 5 blocks, DCR swimming and skating, and bike paths in our income and sales taxes.
You get a lot of empty-nest professionals who move from a largeish place in exurban Boston to a condo in Back Bay or the Seaport, as well.

At the rally I attended, there were 200 at 10am (when I drove by en route to parking), about 500 when I arrived at 10:10, and about 1000 at 10:30.
It was reported as 200 attendees.
The bitter truth is that even with taxes, the quality of life is better in MA, CT, NYC, CA, etc.
Or beat the incumbent in the preliminary...
Our school has "phone hotels" just inside every door, where the phones go during instructional time.
Last year, during the two bomb threats and a lockdown, all of the kids were able to get to their phones and text their parents.
I was a parent who threatened to litigate if they took away phones.
Southern California is too dry to grow decent coffee, and the population has outgrown its water sources. You need a tropical/rain climate for both coffee and chocolate. Which is why those crops come from tropical Oceania, Africa, Central and South America, the Indian Ocean, the Caribbean, etc.
Hawaii grows pineapples and coffee. Not bananas.
Might need a reboot from hard media backup.
It's almost certainly a bird watching hide. They could have added one battery surveillance cam and made sure. But NO, we have to make bird watching a threat to the President...
Bots and Feds. Nobody misses them.

Watch out, here comes President Trump in his diarrhea jet.
Because the US is
a. 50 dysfunctional countries in a trenchcoat
b. split by a serious rural vs. urban divide, where a cop fired by a city gets a senior job out in the sticks
c. split by a poor state vs rich state divide, so a cop fired in California gets a hero's welcome in Florida or Texas
Not under this regime.
And under no circumstances sign anything at a rally unless you know the petition gatherer personally.
Back under your rock, Fed/troll.

That has been the platform of the Massachusetts Democratic Party since Mike Dukakis.

So probably not a "conservative".
I'm pretty sure it would cost more to generate a check than the $1.25 I spent to park at a municipal lot meter.
