Ardnamurchan today - arse end of nowhere, rain lashing down and more windy than the scene from Blazing Saddles……
Warm and friendly reception, great tour and a very generous selection of Drams to warm us up on a cold day! 🥃
Ruby Port 5yo is stunning……

Long drive in shitty weather but was great to visit Ben Nevis today. Didn’t get to see everything as they have a lot of work going on at the distillery but we were well looked after and had some good drams! 🥃
Highlight for me was the Coire Leis.

Had a great evening with a great friend - dinner then a selection of drams……. Including a sample of a 50yo that I can’t mention but was superb!

@ekstromenator.bsky.social I agree with you, the 18 Speyburn is 👌
Benefits from a higher ABV at 46%
Gives chocolate, toffee, nuttiness.

Moving on to a 10yo Speyburn, 40% abv. Visited the distillery this year during the spirit of speyside festival and took their distillery managers tour - I was really impressed. Hadn’t been on my radar much before then but have a few bottles on my shelves now…. 🥃

Sadly all good things must come to an end….. Old Putney, Port Cask, 46% ABV. #BottleKill 🥃

Picked up a couple of bottles of Glenmorangie 10 bottled in the 90’s to try……
Think I’ll do a side by side with the current bottling to see how it’s changed.

Club night at Robbie’s drams, The Glendronach - looks like it’ll be a good night with loads to sample! #Whisky 🥃

An eclectic set of drams at today’s tasting at the Belfry in Edinburgh. Clynelish / Brora - a journey through time. Some amazing drams (10 in total!) which gave a full spectrum of the evolution of this whisky, from 1972 onwards. A few that “weren’t my favourite” but very impressed overall 🥃

Anyone for tea?
Not had one of these for ages. Glengoyne Teapot Dram, batch 7.
October 18, 2025 at 9:35 PM
And another gone. #Bottlekill
The Loch Lomond 150th open edition. I do have another couple of these stashed away tho 😊

Continuing the #Bottlekill theme, trying to clear out those bottles on my shelves that I’ve been nursing for too long….. this time it’s the Longmorn 18yo. This drama took me by surprise, how much I liked it. Was my favourite at the Whisky Fringe festival a few years back. 🥃

Going to miss this one - a hand fill fiddich from 2021, bottled at 57.8 %
Been putting off the bottle kill for ages it’s so nice. 🥃

Had a trip to Glenturret recently, my first visit. Enjoyed the tour (ably hosted by Andrew), and the blending session afterwards.
Followed up with a delicious meal at the Lalique restaurant (two Michelin stars no less!) where the food, the service and the staff were superb. 👌

Just a wee dram anyone? 🥃
A fantastic tasting at Royal Lochnagar a while back.
Always enjoy drawing from the casks, and getting to try stuff that isn’t generally available to buy…..
