Watching Celebrity Traitors UK and getting wound up at Stephen Fry saying, "As the greatest detective of all time, Sherlock Holmes, once said-"

Sherlock Holmes isn't real. You can't do that. It's like saying the greatest long distance runner of all time is Sonic the hedgehog.

Feels like we're at a point of total cultural apocalypse where "Steam games with pronouns are banned from sale in the US" feels like it has a non-zero chance of happening by the year's end.

Happy big game drop day to Team Cherry, the smartest people in the game industry!

Genuinely happy that the 7 year long development time was spent working at a leisurely pace, spending time with their families and flexing their creative muscles - with no pressure to expand their company, deliver sooner or read a single reddit post. Smartest people in our entire industry.

BREAKING: Silksong will be out on September 4. Two weeks from today. Really.

Often, games that take 7+ years to make are plagued by mismanagement and painful burnout. But for Silksong? Team Cherry was having a blast. They still are.

This is their story: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...

Had similar thoughts recently - feels like there was something huge that we've just... lost since

Really enjoyable mini-doc on the origins of Psygnosis.

It's rather sad to see how UK had a thriving independent northern game empire in the late 80s - early 90s that stretched from Liverpool to Newcastle and Dundee - mostly gone now.

Although our team isn't attending this year, I'm glad that we've been able to rep Brighton game devs at Gamescom this year with a Cassette Beasts banner at the ukie stall!

Might be unwise to do gaming discourse but a recurring sentiment I still see online a lot that I think is just *so* off the mark is this idea of:
Dark, difficult, oppressive games = right wing
Cozy, soft, wholesome, nonviolent games = left wing
