Like others I played the Arc Raiders playtest, enjoyed it and was looking forward to the game only to discover they are using AI voices.
Their reasoning was that they can "go from ideation to implemented voice work in hours not months"
Thing is, that's not an AI issue, that's a pipeline problem...

If you're at an industry event, you're all ready "in", you don't have to impress everyone or treat every conversation like a potential casting.
Be genuine, love the work and make friends, that's it.

If you're invited along with industry professionals you admire, you don't need to put any effort into impressing them. You're doing just fine the way you are, everyone just wants to vibe. Partake in conversations just like you'd normally do.
