Like others I played the Arc Raiders playtest, enjoyed it and was looking forward to the game only to discover they are using AI voices.
Their reasoning was that they can "go from ideation to implemented voice work in hours not months"
Thing is, that's not an AI issue, that's a pipeline problem...

I've clearly woken up to there being some kind of discourse overnight but it's posts that hint at the thing without talking about the thing and then you have to go and fing the thing and see whether or not it's a thing you're actually interested in.

Just had to go get a blood test done with the NHS and I was out 2 minutes before my appointment was even due to start...

If you're at an industry event, you're all ready "in", you don't have to impress everyone or treat every conversation like a potential casting.
Be genuine, love the work and make friends, that's it.

If you're invited along with industry professionals you admire, you don't need to put any effort into impressing them. You're doing just fine the way you are, everyone just wants to vibe. Partake in conversations just like you'd normally do.
