(he/him) I buy blu-rays, mostly Asian Cinema now that Crunchyroll have ruined physical anime in the UK. Sometimes I even watch them. 😲

I can’t even begin to describe Labyrinth, the new movie by Shoji Kawamori. If you are familiar with, say, Aquarion, then you know he can get pretty out there sometimes. Imagine a Hosoda Internet Movie filtered through the lens of Arjuna and you might be about 50% of the way there, though. Loved it.
Could really do with 2026 @lovesanimation.bsky.social dates being announced asap though so I know when to not book concert tickets for. I already have one booked in November 2026, and this is how I ended up not being able to do SLA Edinburgh this year.
I’m actually in the mood to watch anime again, which doesn’t happen often anymore with Crunchyroll making anime so damn unenjoyable. Thanks to @liceas.bsky.social and the @lovesanimation.bsky.social team for reigniting that spark.
It was weird doing @lovesanimation.bsky.social Glasgow instead of Edinburgh this year, but it was great to see so many enjoyable anime movies on the big screen over the last three days. It was nice to finally meet @concretebadger.bsky.social and @carvott.bsky.social offline as well; good people.

In one word: Incredible.

In two words: utterly deranged.

Shoji Kawamoris Labyrinth might actually be my favourite movie of the year, but I kinda don’t really want to spoil anything.

SLA Glasgow done. I think this year is one of those years where even though there's no huge name every film has been at least very good. Wide range of stuff with something for everyone.
It really was something. Was worth the trip to Glasgow for this movie alone.
Labyrinth was just the right film to end SLA on.
Holy shit.
Those seeing it in Edinburgh.

This movie is better than last year’s. And I say that having had to watch the movie without subtitles when I was in Japan earlier this year. I am eager to watch it with subtitles and not have to try and guess what characters are saying.
I cannot wait to see Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback in UK cinemas. I'm glad last year's movie did well enough for CineAsia to pick up the latest movie, and I really hope this becomes a yearly thing for them.

Almost time for Avatar The Last Airbender In Concert. I loved the performance in London last January, so couldn’t resist when they announced a tour with a Liverpool date.

Going to be worth it for the encore song alone.
Playing some Sailor Moon for Super Famicom on the train home after watching Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon The Super Live.
It was so good. You’re going to love it.
Absolutely amazing. Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon The Super Live is well worth the trip to London.
