Note that this is a newish amendment to the Save America Act. The earlier version was plenty bad. But this is even worse. Curiously, I had a really hard time finding this latest version online. I knew to look only bc the Brennan Center alluded to an amendment along these lines.

That’s not to say the reporting isn’t important—it is. And it’s obviously not to defend the administration. This is, however, the way they have been doing this. The main news here is (1) they still are doing this, and (2) they’ve reached some sort of sketchy deal with Cameroon to send people there.

Given DOGE’s f#ckery at SSA, I am not thrilled that the “SAVE America Act” aims to compel states to purge voters via SSA’s Number Verification system & DHS’s SAVE program, which accesses the SSA system. I wish some election security experts would look at this & talk me down.
For nearly a year, the administration has said that DOGE had no unauthorized access to your Social Security data. A new government filing admits that was false.

This entire answer from Mike Johnson — the speaker of the House and a lawyer — must be seen.
It is fundamentally wrong on both points: as to administrative warrants (which need not be signed by immigration judges) and as to judicial warrants (which are not "new" for authorizing home entry).
