I’m sorry my of convinced of all the ATCs went on strike during Thanksgiving and demanded Trump and Vance resign, they could maybe get that to happen. These people do not understand how important these people they’re threatening are.

For years, advertising has been how Stereogum made money to pay its writers. While we made progress moving away from that model, Google AI search has decimated the business almost overnight. Today we relaunch with a greater focus on subscription. We’d love your support: stereogum.com/2478838/ster...

The only performative reading I know about is that I used to be neighbors with Ethan Hawke and he would pace up and down the street in jeans and a t-shirt, smoking and running his hands through his hair, while reading Allen Ginsberg aloud, clearly wanting people to be impressed with his fervor.

As a certified Metal fan now, the Grammys needs to expand their Metal palette when it comes to their nominations.

The fact that Turnstile, NOT A METAL BAND (granted Birds is definitely a pretty metal song though), got a nomination, is wrong. There's so much interesting and amazing Metal out there.

Hatchie has finally made the Cocteau Twins album I've always wanted to hear from her.

Her early EPs were pure The Sundays. And now she's leaned into the Robin and Liz of it all. Love it.

I feel like throwing a sandwich into the chest of a DHS gestapo thug should be a $100 ticket.

Like, I don’t want it to be 100% legal necessarily. But a small fine seems right?

He just comes out and says it. He wants us to be like Russia or Hungary. He wants us to be a nominal democracy but one where the Opposition can never gain power.

This is not American.
Trump: "They're gonna make DC a state and they're gonna make Puerto Rico a state. So now they pick up two states, four senators. They're gonna pick up electoral votes. It's gonna be a very, very bad situation. Now, if we do what I'm saying, they'll most likely never obtain power."

This fact is WILD! A Republican administration honoring Eugene Fucking Debs??!?!!
My inner social democrat enjoyed Zohran Mamdani quoting Eugene Debs last night. I vaguely recall my then-even-more-suppressed inner social democrat being pleased in 1990 when Debs was inducted during the first Bush administration into the Labor Department's Hall of Honor.

With all the excitement about the election I don’t want this story to get lost. This morning 8 car wash workers in Boston were kidnapped by federal agents in the largest workplace raid in the area in recent memory.

The details are horrifying.

It's been *nine years* since Michelle Obama said "when they go low we go high." She said that at a Clinton convention where the Dem theme was that they were the responsible party and Trump was crazy.

They lost to Trump twice. The norms are gone. You want them back for your team? Too late!
