Currently on episode two of Death by Lightning. Excellent production with very good performances by Michael Shannon and Matthew Macfayden. Garfield has always been one of those what if questions of US history. How would civil rights been changed if he had lived.

So we are faced with a heartless party of people who only care about enriching themselves or a feckless party of people who only care about keeping the status quo in place for their comfort. A major reorganization is needed.

Democrats seem to be really bad at this politics thing. Is there something else that they could do that would be beneficial to the Country?

The Wisconsin River crossing used by US troops in pursuit of Black Hawks band including women and children. Interesting names involved in the crossing. Henry Dodge, Jefferson Davis, Albert Sidney Johnston, Robert Anderson and Nathan Boone. Anderson commanded Fort Sumter and Boone was Daniel’s son.

In November 1944, on Thanksgiving weekend, a Army Air Corps C-47 cargo plane traveling from Chicago to Minneapolis iced up and crashed on top of Blue Mounds west of Madison. All 4 servicemen were killed including a young officer going home for the holiday. The area is now a state park.

Also in the Oneida Reservation adjacent to the Veterans Memorial is a wonderful Historical Park showing parts of the nation’s history and culture. It is a growing park it looks like with what looks like space for living history presentations and outdoor classes. Excited to come back and visit again

A beautiful Veterans Memorial on Oneida Reservation outside of Green Bay honoring the service their nation has given to the US of the centuries. Excellent presentation and well maintained. Thank you to all Oneida warriors who fought for our country.

For Packers fans here are a couple of Markers relating to two Packer legends. Curly Lambeau grave is actually not where the marker is. It’s located in a cemetery near the marker which is on a walk and bike trail. Lombardi modest ranch style house is also nearby the marker in a quiet neighborhood.

So the historical explorer in me searches out markers and stories out in the wild. 3 interesting ones I have come across lately include a Immigrant group from the Isle of Man, a WWII plane crash in a Wisconsin State Park, and a Mormon who defied Brigham Young.
