I have only one other time been asked to take off shoes to participate in a PD and it was in a yurt in Watsonville, CA, USA. Changes the feel of the experience in the best of ways. Thank you to JCIS Heads of School from across the country who came together and supported one another’s learning.

A great time w/colleagues & talking adult learning at Yokohama International School. Had opportunity to listen to 8th grade ‘Dragons Den’ interdisciplinary presentation of a solution to real world problem aligned w/the SDGs. Must ‘up my game’ - the students are watching us!

Off to Japan to facilitate the two day leadership conference for the Japanese Council of International Schools hosted this year in Yokohama. Then to work in Tokyo before leading the heads conference in Hokkaido. Onward!

Have the honor of working w/ this organization Thursday-Friday as we find our voices. When I worked in Ruatoria, NZ a school principal said, “When I have a hard conversation, the ancestors are in the room and I still speak up because it matters for the students living now and who are in my care.”

The world is big and we all need to stretch at our learning edges. So grateful to work with Keystone Academy in Beijing to continue the work into next fall starting in August in person as well! They are working on new professional growth protocols and peer coaching, as well as UDL and MTSS.

I agree with Adam Grant that if we suspended our certainty that our way is THE way, and not actually just A way, we could be better listeners to all in our community. It takes inner work for this outer impact and it's worth it. And at this time, we need this skill. #StretchingatOurLearningEdges.
