Hello to my new followers from @tanyagold.bsky.social’s editing starter pack! I’m a copyeditor, indexer & writer who posts about my varied interests, including birds, moths, old buildings, horses, genealogy, New Jersey, baseball…Sometimes I even post about editorial stuff.
I assume everyone else here makes gravy from scratch. I doctor McCormick gravy mixes by mixing them with chicken stock instead of water. Today, I made brown gravy but sautéed sliced button mushrooms in bacon fat, then added one part chicken stock, one part marsala and mixed it for mashed potatoes.

I’m still deciding what the Meal of the Day is. (Not turkey.) I have an idea for gravy with marsala, chicken stock and mushrooms. Totally winging it by inventing a recipe.

What if you're writing in a US market, but you're describing a London sign that identifies a doctor in the UK?
