There is absolutely no need to follow me, but if you do, there are things you should know:

1. This account is for stream-of-consciousness, unplanned posts.
2. I'm not here to argue with you.
3. I block frequently. See above.
4. Don't be a dick.
5. Equality for *all*.
6. I'm openly Black.
All the discourse about Manga dominance of US/UK comic shelves seems to miss out survivorship bias.

The Manga we get isn't randomly selected.

The success isn't in the Manga formula (altho' much better digital presentation).

It's cos we get the best of western friendly and don't see the worst.

Sigh.

Caused by a lack of critical thinking.

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

"The day after Valentine's Day demonstrates the health of various relationships by what hangs from a fence.

The village lovers hang the ribbons used to bind their gifts and flowers if all is well.

If not, they hang the other thing..."

Didn't work out the way I would have liked.

But I still think the concept has potential, so I'll do it again.

I see Predator: Badlands continuing the Alpha Wolf fallacy.

Bad enough that the 'predator' isn't a predator...

I've never read the book*, but having seen "Wuthering Heights"(2026), I'm expecting a lot of licking.

[*I have, but that would make for a boring post]

I'm altering my will.

I wish to be buried with a fully charged mobile phone and a spare battery.

And maybe one of those bell-pulley things that were patented, but perhaps never used.
Some light Valentine's Day reading.

Someone saying the Left is too dismissive of the dangers of AI.

We are not.

We understand that the dangers are fiscal, social, environmental, even neurobiological (because that shit will fuck your cognition up).

We are dismissive of the science fictional claims of the snake oil salesfolk.

There's no need to dig up examples going back to antiquity to prove to people that politics has always been in fiction.

You don't even need to prove that "no politics in my fiction" was a CIA Cold War psyop to neutralise Agitprop.

The people who say it know.

They just want you on busywork.
February 13, 2026 at 9:25 PM
Yeah, they know it's not.

This is how snake oil folks snake oil.
I'm pretty sure I know. They aren't. We're not going to really be able to make a lot of progress in dealing with the implications of this tech unless and until we get rid of all this "woo-woo" talk about LLMs. Anthropic pushing this line is PR, unserious.

Should I buy the Jason Aaron Thor omnibuses?

Seems excessive.

I have the floppy singles, some digital versions, and a whole lot of hardcover and softcover trades.

Seems overkilly.

And yet...
