The twist is I have never ordered Pietro’s on a Brewers gameday before. Uecker magic!

The Milwaukee Brewers have never lost a game on the same day I ordered Pietro’s Pizza. Let’s do this Milwaukee.

Deep dive into the surge in US pedestrian deaths:

"It’s not that more pedestrians are getting hit by vehicles; it’s that the ones that are getting hit are more likely to die."

"[That] seems like fairly strong evidence for the theory that the rise in large SUVs is behind the uptick in ped deaths."
Why Are So Many Pedestrians Killed by Cars in the US?
It’s unfortunately not uncommon for pedestrians to be killed by cars in the US.

In Wisconsin at least, assessment law maintains apartments as a type of commercial property. Condos are residential though.

Wheelchair users will likely use paratransit shuttles, which are more costly on a per-ride basis (for government) and often perceived as a less desirable service (by those who can use fixed-route buses). A lose-lose.

This is bad.

Not because any of these routes were essential to the system, but because it portends a dramatic shrinking of the system that will eventually make individual routes less valuable, reduce ridership and trigger future cuts.

It is the start of a death spiral.

I had several conversations with him after our birthday, thankfully, but the moral of the story is: when you're thinking about a friend, send them that text message, don't wait.

One of my enduring memories of my birthday last year is failing to text Jonathan Brostoff (a fellow 9-25er) back with a joke about an issue we both cared about. Then he was tragically gone a little over a month later.

Without photographic evidence otherwise, I think we'll just have to assume I did.

My daughter has been in 4K for two full weeks.

Tonight she asked “how do you retire?” and “why is the weekend only two days?”
