Nothing better than those Fuji TV iron chef episodes. The baseball references from Fukui-San are persistent and wonderful.

I have to console myself with the belief that there is no such thing as an unsold Girl Scout cookie.

Also: We’re cookie moms this year, which is why our living room currently has 177 cases of Girl Scout cookies in it.

I made probably 10 "clam soups" for Apuzzo over about a year until I finally made a version he acknowledged as "chowder."

Celery, pancetta, onion; thin dice on the waxy spuds, large chunks of starchy spuds; fish stock and clam juice; canned, chopped clams; chives and cream.

We have an opening in my crazy fantasy league. The team, the Villagers, has some nice pieces. The league is incredibly fun. The only requirement for ownership is that you are active enough to set weekly lineups and respond to messages for trades.

Every year, for New Year’s Eve, I make pimento cheese. This year is no different.

Giardinera, Calabrian chili, peperoncini, Duke’s mayo, gas station cheddar.
