I'm Jeremy Whitley, writer and creator from Durham, North Carolina. I'm making this thread to talk about my comic books but let's start with a few facts:
1) I'm queer and so are most of my comics, if that excites you great! If not, too bad.
2) I'm always pitching books and looking for work, editors!
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die, Charlie Brown!"

I mean, this one feels pretty obvious.

Watching the feature called "Scroll to Screen: The History and Culture of Anime" that's included on my Animatrix DVD and oh boy, what a slice of 2002 that is.

My children, sitting next to me in the theater watching Wicked: For Good:
*Fiero starts belting big notes inches from Elphaba's face*
Amara (whispered): I bet his breath stinks.
*Elphaba and Glinda sing For Good at each other. Camera frames them*
Zuri: (whispered) Now kiss! Kiss!

It's pretty wild that we have successively had the same crisis in three different electronic entertainment industries.
One day, we were like "Hey, cinema is important, we need to preserve movies"
Then years later, we had the same thought on tv.
Then, years later, on video games.

I'm excited that when Tony Khan was asked during the media scrum who he thought people should watch as breakouts for next year, he listed three of my personal faves: Speedball, Willow, and Kevin Knight.
#AEWFullGear is digesting well, even if I wasn't hyped about some choices when they happened.

Stupidest fucking future.

"Death of the artist" is all well & good but you cannot Seperate the art from the artist when the artist is still alive, a terf & every penny they recieve reinforces their beliefs & is used to actively harm Trans folks!

Okay, Full Gear wasn't my favorite PPV of the year, but it was really good.
There was really only one decision I fully didn't agree with and that's FTR taking the titles during what has been a truly mediocre 1980s ass heels run.
Post Cope/Cage, their bit has felt so dry.

This place has gotten as bad as twitter was when you say you're looking for a collaborator for a book. Lots of term searching generic commish artists that don't follow any comics people responding.

Okay, late start, but watching Full Gear now. The opening tailgate 4 way tag was fun. Good for those Bang Bang Boys. I like them.

Next president can solve the jobs crisis just by hiring people to investigate all the sideways shit that went on under this administration.
It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

You know, the only thing that really bothers me about Wicked (play/movie but haven't read the book) is that it's bad at being fan fiction. Not a bad story, but a story that does not fit canonically within the story it is built around and it can't seem to decide which version of WoO it is.

Okay friends, if you had to put together a decathlon of sports/events/tasks that are uniquely Southern, what would be included in this competition?
