The chicken begins extending its neck towards the branch, the other bird exclaims "oh shit!" The chicken, now at eye level with the smaller bird says "fuck you." later the chicken sits on the edge of a cliff, his neck still incredibly long, and says to itself "the drive for revenge has fundamentally changed who I am into something I can no longer recognize as myself. There is no place for me now in my old life"

Worth It | #Screenprinting, #Watercolor, #Embroidery | (2025)

This is one of the #art pieces i made for the Threads of Our Lives fellowship i did at Artworks this past fall.

Part of a larger story about the origins of my #oc Chime
A crooked white rectangle with a stitched black border. A design of two snakes coiling around an old-fashioned surgical scalpel. It is mostly symmetrical, and resembles the snakes-and-staff medical symbol. The scapel blade is coated in blood and the two snakes have bright red stitching holding parts of them together. Blood splatters and black ink streaks are scattered around the background. One snake has a blue button eye and the other has a red button eye.

Part 2 of this little series snake designs. Part of a larger story about my #OC Chime's backstory
Two snakes twisted around an old fashioned surgical scalpel. One is red at its head and fades to blue by the tip of it's tail, the other is the reverse. The red snake had a blue eye, and the blue snake as a red eye. Scraps of fabric in red, blue, and purple are stitched on to their bodies with scale-shaped stitches. The snakes' outline is defined by faint screen printing and bold black whip stitches. Their fangs are white fill thread, and the scalpel is painted with a black handle and white blade. The design is set on a square of woven grey fabrics with a sparkly black and purple ribbon for a border.

The third and final entry in my series of snake designs for Artworks' fellowship program. Josie, the artist-in-residence, suggested I do this crochet border around it, and I really love how it turned out.
An oval of fabric surrounded by a black crocheted frame with golden ribbon woven into it. In the center is a screenprinted design of two snakes with iridescent eyes curling around an old-fashioned surgical scalpel. The background is grey woven fabric painted darker near the design, causing the white paint in the snakes and knife to pop.
