Supposedly the Arms Export Control Act allows for the president to determine if it would boost the security of the U.S. or promote peace around the world. So someone could maybe explain how this does either.

…not to mention the slew of comments about how much he thinks he deserves it as though one can campaign for Nobel recognition. Even the Ig Nobel would give him undeserved attention.

I believe this is the most important message. In a way, the specifics of the day are almost background noise if you don’t stay open to listening. None of us has the privilege to turn away now. We must all find a way to not get distracted. We can help one another, show compassion, but not silence.
