During his campaign, Trump promised oil executives that he'd dismantle climate change policies in exchange for $1B in campaign financing. Now EPA is canceling lifesaving pollution limits and scrubbing mentions of human-caused climate change from its website: www.washingtonpost.com/climate-envi...

Senate Republicans’ alternative to extending the ACA's enhanced premium tax credits is not a real health care plan. They will shift more financial risk onto families and undermine marketplace stability. New from @americanprogress.bsky.social: www.americanprogress.org/article/sena...
Senate Republicans’ HSA Plan Can’t Replace the Enhanced Premium Tax Credits
The Senate Republican response to the looming expiration of the ACA’s enhanced tax credits is a patchwork of policies that will shift costs onto patients and weaken insurance markets.

This is a frightening day for children’s health. Despite no evidence of vaccine harm, and overwhelming evidence that the birth dose of HepB strongly protects against risk of infection, liver disease & cancer and death, the committee arrived at its preconceived and politically motivated conclusions.
Summary of what happened at Temu ACIP this morning:

As expected, they overturned the 30+ year recommendation for the birth dose of HepB vaccine, which has reduced the incidence of pediatric HepB by 99%.

They provided no credible evidence to support this decision.

ACIP cannot answer why they are reconsidering the HepB vaccine when the preponderance of evidence shows it is safe and effective. Their response: "we need to be humble about what we know." This is how they'll make decisions that will increase preventable disease & affect infant health in the U.S.?

Scientists and experts are pushing back on RFK Jr's ACIP, demanding any specific evidence of harm from the HepB vaccine. None has been provided. Follow the ACIP discussion here ⬇️
As a reminder, today's meeting is all about hepatitis B (HBV) vaccination, specifically the dose of vaccine given within 24 hours of birth universally. This is a critically important policy intervention that enabled us to drastically reduce the incidence of hepatitis B:

Today RFK Jr's ACIP considers delaying/removing the hep B birth dose recommendation, increasing chronic infection in children leading to liver disease. Studies show no benefit to vaccine delay. Since 1991, the birth dose has cut childhood hep B infections by 99%. ACIP: Do not fix what isn't broken.
