Appears to be enabling crypto to be both used and regulated. Is it the follow on that matters rather than this bill? Or just a bad idea to start to institutionalise "digital property"? #crypto @davidgerard

Apple has agreed with the Home Office to drop its legal claim against a government order requiring it to provide intelligence and law enforcement with the capability to access encrypted data of Apple users worldwide. he Investigatory Powers Tribunal has ruled that the case will no longer proceed following a “change in circumstances,” according to court documents obtained by Computer Weekly.

So apparently part of the issue with #threads is that they moved domain from threads.net to threads.com with the result that fediverse domain handles are no longer obvious and transparent. Kind of screams neglect and don’t care won’t fix.
