Want to thank @acslaw.bsky.social for giving me the space to express the view that “Trump Attorneys’ Ethics Violations Require State Bar Action.” It should never have come to this but in our perilous times, action is needed now. I’m not alone. #RuleOfLaw #ACS #ncpol www.acslaw.org/expertforum/...

“.. The US unemployment rate is now up by 1.2 percentage points from its trough 30 months ago. We have never seen that kind of increase without the economy already being in a recession.”

This is truly sad
My heart is heavy tonight hearing the news about our friend and legend Rob Reiner and his wife. I can’t begin to imagine what their family is going through right now. Rob has brought so much to our culture and our conversations with his work, his voice, his humanity matter, and so much more.

This…
Trump’s prosecutors in Comey case are shockingly bad lawyers. But, of course, it’s hard to find good lawyers willing to pursue baseless cases.

It’s not a big story because Trump has threatened to withhold money from all types of entities before. It’s normal antisocial conduct yet again striking at the rule of law. State governments need to resist like Indiana did and not capitulate. #RuleOfLaw #ncpol
This should be the biggest story in the country right now. The sitting US President was extorting state lawmakers from his own party by threatening to withhold public money if they didn’t gerrymander for him.

I don’t know how else to say it…

Indiana lawmakers stand up for integrity and rule of law. Indiana Republicans tell Trump to butt out of state government. Read how this most important development happened. North Carolina GOP should take note. #ncpol #RuleOfLaw www.nytimes.com/2025/12/11/u...

JUST NOW: Trump now openly says he is trying to force CNN into the hands of his allies to stop the network from criticizing him.

🇺🇸 Welcome to authoritarianism. ‘1984’ is here. (Imagine Biden saying this about Fox)

Sad. Just sad. What had our country become?
Immigrants ‘plucked out of line’ at citizenship ceremony at Faneuil Hall “the cradle of liberty”.

If you ever claimed you want immigrants to do it the right way, this should outrage you. On the other hand, If you think this was okay, you need to come to terms with your white nationalist views.

This is the bottom line. #RuleOfLaw
I didn't vote for Trump either time, not because he ran under the Republican banner, but because I knew what kind of man he was. He's proven me right in so many ways during his second term in office, it's sickening and demoralizing to see what he's done to our once proud nation. 🗽

Today we remember the thousands of Americans who died in the attack on Pearl Harbor 84 years ago. Nearly half of those lost were aboard the USS Arizona, and I remember what a moving experience it was when Gabby and I visited the memorial. We’ll never forget their sacrifice.

It would give Americans visual evidence of how the Trump administration is upending the rule of law, ie, a picture says a thousand words. #RukeOfLaw
Himes: "I think it's really important this video by made public ... it's important people see what it looks like when the full force of the US military is turned on two guys who are clinging to a piece of wood and about to go under just so they have a visceral feel for what it is we're doing"

Shameful. Hegseth owns this as SecDef.

The economics here is astounding. Subsidize big companies taking in billions for stockholders or help those in need through a living wage. It’s a rule of law issue because it strikes at the fundamental right to a living wage. Stockholders get it but average Americans don’t. #RuleOfLaw #LivingWage
Walmart and McDonald’s are among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps.

McDonald's CEO raked in $18.2M last year — over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.

Walmart's CEO pocketed $27.4M — 930x the company's median employee pay.

See the problem?

If this were an attorney who threatened a staffer for the purpose of intimidation, which it appears to be, i.e., “play ball”, it would be deserving of a professional conduct inquiry and likely professional disciplining. This behavior is destructive. #RuleOfLaw

So the question remains will a judge or appeals court judges protect the public as they’re supposed to from bad-doers? It’s the essential problem with fighting off authoritarianism: no one wants to stand up to them who can. #ICE #NorthCarolina
