Help Needed on National Park Alternatives:
I’m hosting friends for a Southwest tour that was to include visits to CO NM, Arches, Natural Bridges, Bryce, Zion, and the Grand Canyon. If the gov’t shutdown happens & they close I’ll need a Plan B. I could use your suggestions. Thanks.

Sunbeams poking through the clouds as some light rain falls in the east valley.

Mother Nature was squeezing a few drops out of some clouds out over San Tan. Nice lighting in the morning! #rain #clouds #sunrise

For all my dirt adventure riders, what are the three pieces of gear you don’t use on the street but must have in the dirt?

A new book makes the case that in nature, it’s all about teamwork.
Teamwork Between Species Is The Key To Life Itself
“The Call of the Honeyguide” traces the mutualisms found throughout nature, from hunting pairs to the microbes all around us.

Why do some people think that a HUGE rear wing looks cool on their car?
If they only used it for track days I might agree. But I suspect most don’t know how ridiculous it actually looks. Personal style I suppose.

Is there any company or business remaining where they have a human answer the phone on the first ring?
No “press 1 to be put into our really long queue…”
Southwest Airlines was the last one I recall doing that so many years ago. No one values a truly human touch anymore.
Opportunity? Maybe.

Here’s the analog version of those awful microfont lengthy Privacy Policy documents we never read. They make sure the wall mounted version is equally impossible to read.

Interesting to see a band across the east valley (looking at Phoenix SanTan Mountains) early in the morning. In about half an hour than band had grown in height. Maybe an ozone layer as we have a high pollution alert day today I believe.

Saw this signage in Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport PHX waiting to get on the Sky Train. Which sign should you believe? The uppermost ones or the vertical ones? They contradict each other. Human factors designed needed!

The recent monsoon rains have tamarisk blossoms out. They are only about 8-10mm in diameter. But the hummingbirds and honey bees are finding them. It’s beautiful to see.

I’m taking up dual sport riding with plans to hit mainly two-track dirt, forest, and fires roads. What dirt-specific gear should I consider buying? And why?

Triple Tow! I have no idea how flat towing two cars in tandem can be legal. It just seems to be insanely dangerous. I-10 east heading towards Tucson. Maybe Arizona DOT can weigh in?

BWI has an art display that celebrates America’s earliest civil rights leaders. I found this quilt pretty amazing. It celebrates Frederick Douglass and more.

United Airlines is have some system wide tech issue that is keeping flight plans from being downloaded by the pilots. Our pilot came into the boarding area to fully explain the situation, details, and next steps. That was just amazing. I’ve never seen that level of customer service before.

Hey Waymo, you might want to update this vehicle’s SW. A Chandler AZ 3 lane blvd was reduced to 2 lanes for paving. The Waymo vehicle drove up the closed lanes stopping behind the sealant spraying truck. It seemed baffled and put on its hazard lights. Oops!

I guess you are now under suspicion of you carry “a large sum of cash.” I’ll give the Globe Police credit for finding and arresting this guy carrying meth. But calling $600 a lot of cash is biased towards a cash=criminal law enforcement mindset. gcmaz.com/kaff-news/ka...
