I tried to find pictures for different members for this but most of them were Yoongi oops

it’s a funny connection, but a lot of kpop songs have freestyle in their dna. i first noticed with ‘tt’ by twice—the chorus is 100% a freestyle chorus. and this post was about ‘how sweet’ by newjeans—that song is through and through a freestyle track haha

The ageism in k-pop fandoms is so intrinsically tied to misogyny, that it makes me rage. Men are never told to give up their hobbies and interests once they reach a certain age. Men are never told they need to pay taxes and take care of their kids instead enjoying that football game or comic book.

Sorry about the need to use an image (all text in ALT). A million threads are not fun for anyone. I wanted to, once again, address the issue of ageism within fandoms after seeing a hideous attack on an ARMY account on Xitter.

WHAT TO ELIMINATE IN 2025: AGEISM

Once again I'm seeing truly revolting ageist posts by women against other women. The attitude that being a fan of BTS is reserved purely for 'young, skinny and pretty' girls will forever baffle me.

Music is for everyone. Age is irrelevant. Appearance is irrelevant. Gender is irrelevant. Being ARMY doesn't come with an expiry date. Do these people really think there will come a day when they say, "NOPE, can't be a BTS fan (or insert the fandom of your choice) any more because I am officially too old." Please.

So, for those people out there making such comments, perhaps you should have a good listen to BTS lyrics. Maybe you should pay attention to the values these men live by. And perhaps you should remember that your so-called 'beauty' is non-existent if you negate it with the words you speak and write. I sincerely hope you don't plan to treat yourself like this when you get older.

Time isn't going to stop for you. You can spend it spreading negativity and bitchiness or you can buy into the BTS message of kindness, inclusivity and love of others and yourself. Let's support each other. Women face enough troubles in this world without tearing each other down.

To ARMY who don't fit the ridiculous stereotype, I see you, I love you and I want you to know you are welcome in the Coffee Date space. If you wish to comment, I welcome your words but urge you to do so with kindness rather than 'in kind'.
