I’m watching The Wedding Planner and I thought back to when I first watched it…on my Gateway desktop bc we didn’t have a DVD player. One of my brother’s girlfriends had it on DVD and we all watched it in my room while sitting on the floor in front of my desk 😂

I’ve lived in Texas my whole life (😩), but as a kid always wanted to live in NYC. Watching a doc atm and realizing- now at 39- that it’s due to the whole “hustle & bustle” of it all. Anxiety keeps me moving. NYC moves quickly. My brain: “I belong there.” 🙃

I make the effort and bought frames for my diplomas. They had been sitting in their tubes since 2014 and 2018. Now, hey have frames and are displayed in my office on campus. Didn’t expect to feel a little giddy about it, ngl 😅

This semester, I’m teach 6 English rhetoric classes. It is by and large a research class. Not only am I teaching my students the importance of citing their sources, but I’m hammering in on, “you need to keep asking questions. Who gains from your quiet compliance?”

I’ve noticed a fair amount of tailgating in a town with the WORST roads I have ever seen. Like seriously, some potholes are akin to sinkholes! And even like that, I can’t roll a few feet without someone trying to climb up my throat through my ass 🙃 I’m sorry your city sucks, but get off my ass.

Getting my students to get comfortable questioning EVERYTHING when family and high school culture dictates they question nothing, is fun 😂 the wide-eye states I get when I say, “what does your compliance allow?”

I will never understand why the people in Minas Tirith WHO CAN SEE THEYRE BEING INVADED just stand around and don’t hide/go inside/fight and are just in the way when the Orcs overrun the city. I know Denthor is insane, but self-preservation is a thing!
