Trump's tariffs on Brazil overturned by the Senate. Let's hope and pray some measure of sanity returns to Congress when they finally reconvene after this dumb shutdown.

Coffee prices are up 21%.

Ground beef prices up 13%.

Big reason why?

Trump’s chaotic tariffs on Brazil.

I voted to repeal these tariffs along with every Democrat and a few Republicans, and it PASSED the Senate.

All eyes now on House Republicans who are still on vacation.

Senate votes to REPEAL Trump's tariffs on Brazil. 5 Republicans vote with the Democrats.

Great work everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JUST IN: The Senate voted to repeal President Trump's tariffs on Brazil, with five Republicans joining Democrats.
Senate rejects Trump tariffs on Brazil
The vote serves as a symbolic rebuke of Trump's trade policies.

A pattern is being set by the actions of Trump led America. The poor and vulnerable will be increasingly left without any help from the Federal government. States and local governments are going to be massively impacted by how the Feds have withdrawn from assisting after disasters and social needs.
Trump using the military to advance a political agenda within the U.S. is pure despotic action. Trump is a direct threat to the freedoms our nation stands for. #despotic
Mike really deserves to lose his job. By his own admission he is incapable of doing anything at all to deserve serving in Congress. He tells us every single day there is NOTHING he can do.
Both political parties have failed the American people with their political posturing with regards the budge impasse. Compromise is needed and it begins with an immediate return to work in the halls of Congress. I'm not impressed with people unwilling to do the hard work of debate and governance.
They are supporting their rich friends. MAGA is corrupt.
The N.B.A. has been ruined by gambling. What a tragic mistake.
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

“The evidence is now in,” David French writes. “The explosive growth in sports gambling is bad for sports, and — most important — it has proved to be bad for the millions of Americans who gamble past the point of prudence and move directly to the point of pain.”

The N.B.A. should have known this was coming.

Our nation should honestly be ashamed at the actions of President Trump. His latest tantrum against Canada simply has no basis in reality. He's a madman. Also the extrajudicial killing of accused drug smugglers with missiles has no basis in the law. He's doing it as an exercise in raw power.
Our nation is being led by a serious mentally ill narcissist. If there are no checks on his power he can in fact destroy our nations and harm the world. He must be held accountable.
I don’t really think the framers intended for a president to have the power to slap a tariff on products from a particular country because he didn’t like a TV commercial they ran about him, but I suppose it is presently up to the Supreme Ct to decide how far the Mad King can go.
Since one of our political parties is beholden to an autocratic dictator the government shutdown will go on until the King stops thinking about his Royal ballroom. As his Press Secretary noted yesterday it's his top priority. #shutdown #ballroom
As in all anonymous conversations, friends etc.... the entire story is fabricated on the spot by the President. He just makes it up and has no intention of revealing enough details to verify the 'story'.
"Incredibly good shape" translated into the truth machine reveals obesity, heart failure, shortness of breath, nutritional deficiencies related to poor diet and dementia.
"We're just going to kill people." I do appreciate the honesty about killing people. #thuglife
Trump: "I don't think we're going to necessarily ask for a declaration of war. I think we're just going to kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. We're going to kill them. They're going to be like, dead."
The main priority is the ballroom is quite revealing. The King wants to have larger parties.
Leavitt: "At this moment in time, of course, the ballroom is really the president's main priority."
We the people will pay for the ballroom. Political donors will be the ones getting the invitation to actually use the ballroom.
Money changing hands predates the pardon. It's corruption.
Expect the cost of the 'ballroom' project to balloon by a few more hundred million dollars. This could be a billion dollar ballroom before long. Details will remain sketchy.
Supposed man of peace Trump wants a war with Venezuela.... someone help me understand Why?
There is no health care plan coming from the Republican party.
I was referencing the historical author Edward Gibbons tome, "The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire" not implying what you inferred.

Rand Paul was the only Republican senator not invited to Trump’s luncheon at his new Rose Garden Club today. He said he had lunch with Thomas Massie instead. bsky.app/profile/blue...
Rand Paul: There is no fentanyl made in Venezuela. Not just a little bit, there's none being made... These are outboard boats that, in order for them to get to Miami, would have to stop and refuel 20 times... We don't just summarily execute people.
Destruction of the rule of law.
Chris Murphy: "There's a lot of history that has taken place in the East Wing & it was just destroyed without any conversation in the public, without any consent of Congress. It's absolutely illegal. That visual is powerful b/c you're watching destruction of the rule of law as those walls come down"
