The IIHF has confirmed to me that neck guards will be mandatory for hockey players at the upcoming Winter Olympics.

IIHF announced in 2023 that they'd be mandatory, but didn't confirm when it would be for senior players until now.

IIHF says neck guards will be mandatory at 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina
In February 2024, 78.45 percent of NHL players who participated in an Athletic players poll opposed the idea of a neck-guard mandate.

Brady Tkachuk hopes to be back on the ice playing “around” American Thanksgiving next week, as said on his weekly podcast, Wingmen with his brother Matthew.

#Sens play the day before U.S. Thanksgiving on Nov. 26 in Vegas and Nov. 28 in St. Louis.

Nick Cousins triggered the $2K penalty for embellishment during the Nov. 9 game against Utah, after being warned against WSH last month.

If the NHL gives Cousins another citation, he'll be penalized $3,000. Then $4,000. Then $5,000. At which point, Travis Green will be fined.

Apologies for being late on this one.

The NHL has fined Nick Cousins $2,000 for diving and embellishment.

He was previously warned following an incident in the Oct. 25 game against Washington, and then triggered the $2k penalty after being penalized for embellishment against Utah.

Dennis Gilbert is back. The Senators have reacquired him from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Maxence Guenette.

Gilbert, you may remember, was a piece in the Dylan Cozens trade last year.

I mentioned him as a stopgap possibility for Chabot's injury.

For those wondering, the LA Kings are starting Anton Forsberg tonight.

A familiar face to many in Ottawa, of course, after spending five seasons with the Sens before joining the Kings in free agency this summer.

We’ll know more today about Thomas Chabot’s injury from last night.

A hit to the team’s left side on defence that already needed a boost before the injury.

Senators’ left-side defensive depth will be tested if Thomas Chabot is out for a while
The Senators were forced to play with five defencemen after Chabot left Tuesday's game against Dallas due to injury.
