#MDANT🎖️🤩

Old, aching and wobbly.

Way back last century I was a Punk Rock Kid.

Now:
A good sit down with any of:
a nice cup of tea
a Kit Kat
a beer
or a single malt whisky.

And some David Bowie.

I know the BBC are preoccupied, but I've recieved no reply re my complaint about how incompetent the Red Team were on Bargain Hunt (October 26th broadcast). And how they didn't even appear to be taking the game remotely seriously.

Archive photo.
Circa 1988 with a Commodore Amiga 500 plugged into a Philips portable TV. Probably playing New Zealand Story or Carrier Command.
Collection of shabby plants.

Vinyl collection in the background, starting with the Adverts ‘One Chord Wonders’ Always alphabetical. Still have them all.

Now playing:

‘I reach a higher plane when I speak so slow and hardly breathe.
They're gonna run out of shapes when they fetch my family.
I must confess I'm gonna see that man again.
I'm gonna turn back the clock and set foot in Kansas’

#NowPlaying Bill Nelson's Red Noise - Sound On Sound (1979) Nelson hand brake turns his career and produces a fine, frenetic, pointilistic, and definitive New Wave LP. Devo & XTC are all manifest influences. Best track, Revolt Into Style, harks back to his guitar pyrotechnic heroics #MusicSky

There were 92,400 Lego cutlasses inside the shipping container that fell off the Tokio Express back in 1997. This one was found in August by Laura Dale on a beach near Newquay some 28 years after it plummeted into the ocean.

Sunday afternoon music.

‘Fires on spires and chimneys of black
Fields on horizons with pylons that crack
With singing sad wires of council house mystics
To apply their statistics
And read the tea leaves,

Time knows no limits for days such as these….’

‘Condemned to be a stranger
Subway dweller, dead-end danger.
Peeking through the dust of friends
Who never gave, they'd only lend.
Every sneer is thrown away
With practised gestures of disdain
The outlaw stance is so pedantic
Hate the world, it's so romantic

What’s your favourite song about the rain?

‘Checking in every morning
To the sound of steam and caffeine
The sludge in the bottom of the cup
Just like the sludge in the stream.
Slag heap keeps growing higher
Every morning the sky, it's on fire
And it's only 9 AM again

Sunday lunchtime. Dreich.

Endless mugs of strong tea and DB at his melancholic best.

‘Living in lies by the railway line
Pushing the hair from my eyes
Elvis is English and climbs the hills
Can't tell the bullshit from the lies

Screaming along in South London’

I recently deleted a chunk of muted words and phrases and goodness me, that was a mistake. My feed was *unbearable* for a minute there.

Anyway, regular reminder that mute is really good here and you can, and should, mute anything and everything that’s upsetting you. There’s no shame.
