“I’ll set this up properly after work” (She did not, in fact, set it up properly after work that day, or ever)

I wasn’t a big fan of Totodile back in the Gold/Silver days, but then when I saw its idle animation with the excited expression and bouncy little arms in later games I was DEEPLY charmed. It has a lovable *je ne sais quoi*
I’d played WotL 10+ years ago on an old iPad which could barely handle it and crashed regularly, so this was very much worth getting for me, but I don’t think it would be if you played a stable version within the past few years.
If you played WOTL that recently and aren’t a die-hard fan, I’d say no. It’s a lot of nice QoL and UI updates and such, but content-wise and in terms of gameplay it’s mostly a recreation of the original. A great way to play it if it’s been a while, but not fundamentally different from what you did.
OH AND PETTING A PUPPY
Things I got excited about today: seeing an Eastern Towhee, not having to put on sunscreen, someone drew a silly face on a warning sign, heard a kid do the 6 7 thing IRL, sleeping bats, really good Mac & Cheese, and being right about something in a YouTube video.
I was not aware of this, so thank YOU!
One time I had one of the antechamber doors open and managed to reach the tile next to it, only for it to give me 0 options for doors that would connect to it even after a reroll. That was fun.

Imagined Simon just pounding his fists against an empty wall and wailing.
I took obsessive notes and had both the experience of “This thing I took detailed notes on in one of my first runs ended up being crucial at just the right moment 10+ runs later!” and “Oh no, these notes I’ve been painstakingly gathering all game are for something I’d already figured out on my own.”
It still has the honor of being the game that made me full on ugly cry the hardest AND made me cry the most times 👍
@sfemonster.bsky.social Dear Sfé, I was watching something where a question was about ranking which toy was most expensive, and it’s thanks to you that I was able to point and go “That’s a Labubu!” and then go “That’s gotta be it!” when they said it was the rarest Labubu.
(I ended up enjoying them. They’re largely fun, fast reads, and it was nice to have quick novellas to read between longer novels to break things up. I also avoided The Locked Tomb books because the blurbs made me wary and ended up liking them, so I guess I should just trust my friends’ tastes more.)
TBH I had the exact same reaction to the book series title (“The Murderbot Diaries”) even though the individual books aren’t named like that, and avoided them for a long time as a result. Having now finally read them, I know it works much better in context, but without it… yeah.
My partner’s mom underwent chemotherapy for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma ~25 years ago. It was very effective, it hasn’t come back since, and she’s currently 70 years old and doing great 🧡
Cooooooooool 🫠
I’m in such an Online Creative Bubble that I regularly forget that tons of people don’t even give a single thought to GenAI’s Myriad Issues and are only dimly aware of them, and just view it as a “fun digital tool” with no deeper thought or consideration.
Viewing the zoomed out thumbnail on my phone: “How did you know it was—“

After clicking and zooming in: “Never mind, asked and answered.”

The little birdie buns are darling 💖
He was so LITTLE back then! Still incredibly photogenic, damn. Happy Birthday Spriggan! 🥳
They ROCKETED out of that starting gate this season. It was WILD. Excited to see what all they have up their sleeve from here.
I didn’t always agree with her (nor anyone in the party), but I appreciated that her perspective had room for ambivalence, changes of opinion, some internal contradictions, and being good-intentioned without being excessively idealized or always “right” about everything.
I finished DAO for the first time last year. I played a Circle Mage in DAO and I thought Wynne, being neither a rebel nor a total loyalist, added a lot to my play-through, as my character tried to navigate both her affection for and loyalty to the Circle Mages and all her anger over its injustices.
Glad to hear it! I’m frankly not sure I EVER would have beat the game without it.
