(1/) Tree Sparrows are more typically seen in hedgerows rather than trees across the UK. This species declined by 98% 1967–2023. It now has a very patchy distribution, so it can be quite a challenging species to find in many areas. @btobirds.bsky.social @jncc.bsky.social @rspbscience.bsky.social

Siskins! 2024 was an ‘influx year’ & bird ringers caught & ringed 63,815 across the UK! This was the highest number ever recorded. 😮 Among birds caught in the UK were Siskins previously ringed as far away as Russia & the Czech Republic.
