Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

&, sadly, a lot of people still aren't eligible for unpaid leave w/ FMLA. It's absolutely pathetic that we don't yet have universal healthcare & 1st world paid family leave laws/policies.

The United States remains the only high-income country without a national paid family leave policy. Our sole federal policy, the Family and Medical Leave Act, only requires unpaid leave.

If I was younger, I'd probably come up w/ a comedy skit about a socially awkward girl who wears an bodysuit that happens to be that beigey-"nude" color at a party & then wonders why the hell everyone's staring at her like that. Do not ask me about my college years.

TBH, for many years, I have refused to wear pants or skirts in that color b/c I've seen too many other women wearing leggings too close to their skin color & it looks like they forgot to clothe the bottom half of their bodies. Tops, too, can have the same problem.
