Yep, this is thread 🧵 #3. Yes, I know there is a big protest in downtown #Tucson protesting ICE.

But I am here in #Marana as a number of people are protesting a proposed ICE detention center.

Protests in downtown #Tucson continue to grow, presumably as more and more people leave work.

Locals are blocking some sections of Broadway downtown with an increased number of police on hand for traffic control.

Everything is still peaceful.

Together with a lot of other journalists I was just refused entry to a press conference with Greg Bovino in Minneapolis for unspecified "security reasons". I had sent an RSVP in time. Not a big deal tbh but another example of the press being restricted

I'll be covering the #PimaSupes this morning, with the meeting marking the first chaired by Supervisor Jennifer Allen.

She brought in a gavel she won in high school, a little personal memento as she runs today's meeting.

The ICE raids haven’t hit #Tucson yet. But the arguments have. A public dust-up between County Attorney Laura Conover and columnist Tim Steller shows how thin the line is between legitimate enforcement and state-sanctioned intimidation — before the goons even arrive.

The loophole created for the developers of this data center to secretly set electricity rates behind closed doors and outside of the public process is new, rare, and a dangerous recipe for massive price hikes for Arizona consumers.

Final post of the night: from Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

#AZ06 Democratic front-runner JoAnna Mendoza wants answers.

"The operation in Venezuela was conducted without congressional oversight and we need a full, transparent after action report noting any injuries, damage, and laying out a clear plan for what comes next," she said in a press release.

Tucson Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva denounces the attack against Venezuela, calling it "reckless, unconstitutional, and deeply destabilizing."

"The Constitution is clear: only Congress has the authority to declare war."

#Tucson Rep. Juan Ciscomani backed the decision.

"President Trump’s decisive action marks a critical step toward disrupting these deadly trafficking operations and pushing back against a destabilizing regime that has aligned itself with some of our most dangerous adversaries," he wrote on X.

An important story out of the @thebulwark.com, which states #Phoenix could be the next target of the Trump Administration, dramatically increasing arrests as well as building “soft-sided” detention centers to increase capacity.
