Sorry! On deadline and haven't had a moment to send a post.

I'll have more on the Council's direction on transit safety improvement in a few minutes.

There are concerns about one of the online polls related to safety on the buses, but city officials are confident of the paper surveys handed out to passengers.

The results are mixed.

The Council is currently discussing transit safety, with city officials talking about open-air drug use and other criminal damage to city bus stops.

Today's meeting is the first for new City Attorney Roi Lusk, having been selected by the Mayor and City Council in September 2025 to replace Mike Rankin, who retired last month.

Lusk has a long history with the office including roles as a prosecuting city attorney and Chief Deputy City Attorney.

And we're back!

Today's executive session time was twice what they hd budgeted.

Must have been a lot on their plate.

They COULD be, but I am not aware of any litigation at this time.

This is a good reminder that I need to review letters of claim against the city .......

YW. For those that know me, there is no place I'd rather be this afternoon.

(Although we are watching the Pima Community College meeting tonight after the #TucsonCouncil meeting is over.)

So what is the #TucsonCouncil talking about in Executive Session?

The public memo states "The subject matter of this Executive Session is quarterly non-disclosure agreement reform and transparency."

Practically speaking, the Council is talking about active and future lawsuits.

NEW: Speaker Johnson pressed by Manu Raju on why he doesn’t swear in Adelita Grijalva during a pro forma session responds:

“Look, we'll schedule it. I guess as soon as she wants.”

There is a home game today, but that doesn’t slow down local protesters from coming out to protest against #Tucson Congressman Juan Ciscomani.

The banner ad reads “Jim Click - stop bankrolling Ciscomani.”

Patience, there are a lot of counties counting right now.

So the vibe is pretty positive here at Adelita Grijalva’s campaign party.

Tucson Councilwoman Nikki Lee says open fentanyl use at bus stops has become one of the city’s top problems — and she wants a new ordinance that would push people toward treatment instead of jail. We break down the proposal and the politics behind it in today’s Tucson Agenda. 👇
