Last week, ICE arrested and separated a father and son after a routine check-in. Six-year-old Yuanxin had just enrolled in the first grade at an elementary school in Astoria. Now he's in custody, alone. ICE won't say where. This cruelty serves no one. It must end.

#NoirvemberChallenge. Thanks for all the fun with Challenge @ladykdesigns.bsky.social Day 30 Favorite Noir Ending. The ending of The Third Man can never be topped. Altman acknowledges its iconic nature with his parody of the scene in The Long Goodbye. It is also a sin for which I can't forgive.

#NoirvemberChallenge Day 25 Noirs on a boat. Without question The Breaking Point starring John Garfield, Patricia Neal, Phyllis Thaxter & Juano Hernandez. One of the best films on Micheal Curtiz' resume (which says a lot). It should be more widely known & admired.

#NoirvemberChallenge Day 23 Noir Scene Stealer. Charles McGraw. Whether he was a supporting player (The Killers, T-Men, Blood on the Moon) or lead (Narrow Margin, Armored Car Robbery, Roadblock) he commended the screen. 👇From Armored Car Robbery

#NoirvemberChallenger Day 21 Noir Films outside USA. Any noir by Jean Pierre Melville. Also Nine Queens, the South American con man noir, is so brilliant that you will watch it time and again even after you have dazzled by its plot twists on first viewing

#NoirvemberChallenge Day 20 Favorite Gambling Scene -- Bob in the casino at the end of Jean-Pierre Melville's Bob le Flambeur. Everything goes wrong but everything goes right. Beside I childishly love to hear people say "Bob" with a French accent

#NoirvemberChallenge Day 19 Favorite Boxing Noir. You can't beat the elegant simplicity of The Set-Up, a straight ahead moving story with great characters told in a real 90 minutes. Great performances by Ryan & Totter (breaks your heart in the arcade) & supporting cast. Best staged fight on screen.

#NoirvemberChallenge Day 18 Noir MacGuffin. Brain can't get passed the obvious -- Falcon & Kiss Me Deadly. May not be the best MacGuffin but it's in one of my favorites. The jade necklace in Murder My Sweet.
