I see someone in Target management has discovered (probably at some seminar) the Ritz-Carlton 10 and 5 Rule. Every customer service training I’ve ever been to in hospitality has taught some version of this.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.
They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.
If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

I was reading an article in Defector about preserving rare videos and it directed me to this performance by magician Ricky Jay. I can think of worse ways to spend an hour than to watch a master demonstrate his craft.

I was reading an article in Defector about preserving rare videos and it directed me to this performance by magician Ricky Jay. I can think of worse ways to spend an hour than to watch a master demonstrate his craft.
