If you are hungry right now in metro Lansing, Michigan, here's a resource you might not have considered:

We have a network of tiny free pantries.

CADL Okemos & Haslett each have one, because libraries are awesome and CADL is the best.

But there are others around the area. Here is a map:
FREE Tiny Pantry Network - Google My Maps
This interactive map allows the community to find each pantry in our network. This service program was created by the cardboard Prophets in collaboration with Home Depot and many community partners ...

I miss when you could post Brave Norman Rockwell Townsperson and the caption could be, like, “R.E.M was wrong to leave ‘Fretless’ off of Out of Time” instead of “The secret police should stop murdering people.”

Breaking: The CDC reports SARS-CoV-2 levels *quadrupled* in Minnesota in the past week.

Using harmonized wastewater estimates, we project 1 in 12 people in Minnesota are actively infectious. This is equivalent to a 59% chance of exposure in a room of 10 people....

Measles is one of those nightmare diseases that, if it hadn't been killing people for hundreds of years, people would ABSOLUTELY be pushing conspiracy theories about right now. It's too nasty in too many different directions to seem natural. But oh, boy, it sure is.

While MLPS was a victory, moral and tangibly, for ICE resisters, don't call it 'a retreat.' The dystopia is just getting started

Thousands of new agents. 150 new offices in every state. And the nationwide gulag archipelago. The fight has just begun

No, ICE isn’t ‘retreating.’ It’s loading up to invade your town. | Will Bunch
A much-hyped ICE pullback from Minneapolis is a blip in a looming nationwide surge of arrests, concentration camps.

What’s so weird about men in power is how when they face scandal and should step down the world acts like no one else can do their jobs. Bottstein, Wasserman, these aren’t irreplaceable men! Stop with this delusion.

So the United States will only use empty warehouses to house people it wants to terrorize, not people it wants to shelter from the cold.

We really are not a very good-natured country.

The acting director of ICE told Congress, under oath, that local law enforcement in Colorado leaked raid plans, allowing gang members to escape.

After 9NEWS questioned ICE's claim and its timeline, ICE deleted the claim from its social media platforms.

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

In Minnesota, we are all too familiar with false spring. You think maybe winter’s finally over...until the cold snaps back, sometimes even harder.

That’s what this moment feels like. You may hear that ICE is “leaving", but they’re shifting, spreading out.

Don’t mistake a brief thaw for safety.
