If you are hungry right now in metro Lansing, Michigan, here's a resource you might not have considered:

We have a network of tiny free pantries.

CADL Okemos & Haslett each have one, because libraries are awesome and CADL is the best.

But there are others around the area. Here is a map:
FREE Tiny Pantry Network - Google My Maps
This interactive map allows the community to find each pantry in our network. This service program was created by the cardboard Prophets in collaboration with Home Depot and many community partners ...

I appreciate Castro for his advocacy for the people in this concentration camp. Every US rep should be doing at least this much.

Same people detaining a very ill infant in an immigration concentration camp, and raiding camps so children can’t write letters about conditions…these are the same people forcing social media platforms to dox users who criticize DHS agents, cause we’re the “domestic terrorists.” Mmkay.

Trump's administration: putting a 2-month-old baby at door's death and continuing to do so.

Why? Who are the people who voted for this?

They have to own it.

it’s insane that a decade ago we all agreed that giving mass shooters the attention they desired was a bad thing but now because rightwingers will quite literally lie about the shooter every single time we all have to be acutely aware of the shooters intentions and ideology

Incidentally, FedEx, Meta, and Microsoft are on the list of ICE-supporting companies suggested for boycott (and I'm a little shocked that Vanguard is listed as "one of the biggest shareholders for both GEO Group and CoreCivic" and Fidelity is not).

The current person in charge of ICE's procurement for detention is a GEO Group executive who ran the company's immigration detention portfolio. He was granted an "ethics waiver" from DHS allowing him to hand out contracts to GEO in his new role.

“As the airplane took off, Epstein started touching me forcibly in between my legs, and I freaked out. I realized, this is not a modeling opportunity, I've been kidnapped. They whisked me away to the island. I was stuck there. They never arranged any modeling opportunities, I was completely conned."
Epstein survivor tells CBS News how she was trafficked, and assaulted
Juliette Bryant says not long after meeting Jeffrey Epstein, he assaulted her, and she realized, "this is not a modeling opportunity, I've been kidnapped."

The horror stories rolling in from Minnesota are just the tip of the iceberg. This 20-year-old, who's lawfully present in the country, was arrested for being Latino, then jailed in a filthy cell where he couldn't even sit down. 18 days of illegal detention. democracyforward.org/wp-content/u...

Stoically not tearing up at a Presbyterian seminarian explaining the distortions of Christian Nationalism in comparison to the core teachings and mission of Jesus of Nazareth. I know people have ideas about Christians, and I think much of that rep is deserved by the way some speak and behave. But...
Colbert posted the interview online. I do wonder if CBS and the FCC are aware of the Streisand effect? The interview has been up for 8 hours and has just over half a million views.

In 1854, after watching the federal government deploy 2000 federal troops and spend $40,000 sending Anthony Burns back into slavery, Boston's Amos Adams Lawrence said “we went to bed one night old-fashioned, conservative, Compromise Union Whigs and waked up stark mad Abolitionists.”
Yesterday morning kids were sent running from their bus stop in panic because ICE showed up. This guy at today’s ICE Out of Lindenwold protest is a must watch 😭. @maddow.bsky.social

Y’all came through bigly with over $3,000 in total donations and I can’t say thank you enough. I know there are a lot of people out there who need help so your charity means the world. From mass printing KYR cards, we’re now buying a small PA system for a major protest against a detention facility.
Thanks to everyone who has donated to this. Not only do we have enough money to print over 10,000 more KYR cards in various languages, I even got some more local teacher families on here reaching out for some ❤️‍🔥
misspoke: For 3,000 KYR cards (3 varieties, multilingual etc) we paid $320. By this math, and a slightly better discount for volume, we need ~$1000 to print another 10,000.

Comment “KCIF” for the funds to go to our KC ICE FREE campaign.

We have demand from over 30 different schools in the KC metro

CBS not airing James Talarico’s interview with Stephen Colbert because they were supposedly worried about FCC backlash is a really big deal. Stephen Colbert was told not to say anything and did so anyways. This man is not getting enough credit for standing up for free speech.

There is no drawdown. There is no retreat. ICE is just redistributing their assets to better avoid accountability.
The same day DHS announced the surge would end in Minnesota, ICE activity increased in small towns
The less densely populated areas outside the Twin Cities make it harder for protesters and observers to organize.

There will be elections.

This f*ckknuckle doesn’t have enough lead in his pencil to cancel them.

They may be chaotic. They may be litigated within an inch of their lives. Courtrooms may stay lit through the night.

But the polling stations will open. And they will see record numbers. Oh yes.

There is no constitutional right of law enforcement to detain me, throw me to the ground, and then put five bullets in my back while masked and unidentified.

There is a right to vote.
Emmer: "Another reform they claim they want is they want ICE agents to identify themselves, to show identification. But they don't want identification for voters in elections. I mean, this stuff is just intellectually inconsistent."
