I had weird feelings about these types of articles that I couldn’t pinpoint. Thanks for this framing, very helpful.

I got to hang with @covingtonedu.bsky.social and @humrespro.bsky.social today in person! Getting to see my online friends and allies is such a gorgeous part of life. The Student Power Summit is the place to be!

"There is a conversation that only the people in this room can have. Find it." is adrienne maree brown's eternal provocation.

I think @humrespro.bsky.social found it today at Learning InspirED's Student Power Summit. ♥️ #EduSky

Successfully haven’t bought anything from a large corporation today. Got a couple things from my local co-op and switched out books at the library. 💕 A great goal for any day!

I’m always for getting on the train the is going in the direction of my destination. Not yelling at it for not taking me all the way there.

To empower marginalized communities and address wealth inequalities from centuries of racism and discrimination, we must champion economic democracy. By giving people a voice in the economy, we enable them to take control of their economic futures. It's time to shift from plutocracy to inclusivity.

THIS IS HOW YOU STAND UP: EEOC admin judge Karen Ortiz resisted an order to hand over all LGBT cases for “review” and told colleagues to resist too. She knows she’ll likely to be fired.

New EV owner here! I’d rather do public transport but I’m in a very rural place, the garage charger is on its way now. :)

What I know about what is lawful: Diversity, equity, and inclusion are legal (and moral!) All students receiving a free and public education is legal (regardless of immigration status or gender identity.)

Democracy Forward has been so helpful to track these many court cases.

I was inspired to do a little something, based on a comment @prisonculture.bsky.social made earlier this week, and put together this flyer with federal policy actions that happened this week. I hope people find this useful!
The front page of a weekly federal government update flyer, describing the current federal budget proposal in the house of representatives, the federal agencies under attack, and updates on the price of eggs and gas. The back page of a flyer that includes five qr codes that can be scanned to take action to protect our democracy. The actions include calling your senators and reps, protesting with indivisible, learning about issues, donating to a food bank, and a document that has a very long list of other options.

Can’t wait to post a few of these!

This is so great! I didn’t have the bandwidth to do something like this right now, but I do have to shop for groceries and have access to a printer! Thank you!!!

Oooh that’s a good question. Another person is working on a design that is very person-centric. Do you have a preference?
johannabrown.bsky.social
Thoughts on this design? Planning for a #science teachers conference. Also, bonus points if you know what the white lines are.
In a black background there are white swirls and lines (these are subatomic particle paths in a bubble chamber) on top of the lines a large bold font says SCIENCE MATTERS with the WSTA logo in the bottom right corner
