Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, but traveling when mother nature allows me to do so. Also; things from Indonesia.
The Russian road sign of the Sudzha border crossing between Ukraine and Russia. Turn left to the free world, right is straight to orc hell. The sign is now located in the National Museum of the History below the Motherland Statue in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Enough space for me on board the European Sleeper to Amsterdam. I picked up a last minute ticket for the entire room a few days ago. 🔥

It's cold on board the 749 train from Kyiv to Uzhhorod and Vienna. I've decided to roll up in the proper blanket provided by the railways so I can stare outside while feeling less cold. And yes I know, first world problems as I chose to be here.

Hungary demands my international train ticket to be printed. The PDF is not enough for me to be able to board even though I also have my passport on me. Ukrzaliznytsia takes PDF's without exception outside of this. Ooh well, fortunately hotel staff solved that in about a minute.

That's a first. Never got this alert before, I do use the air raid alerts app an telegram groups though. This is similar to a class 0 message but without the typical screaming alert sound that comes with it. I had that in Kharkiv last year.

Russian fuckers have apparently launched missiles from Bryansk. Air raid alert in large parts of Ukraine, including Kyiv.

It's -12°C in Kyiv now. Last night was no different with air raid alerts and a massive drone attack on (among others) Odesa again.

Ukrzaliznytsia reports were about half an hour late. We're at the Moldova-Ukraine border now, just stamped out of Moldova.
February 7, 2026 at 10:45 AM
Northern Moldova has seen a lot of freezing rain recently. Our train is sometimes getting hit by branches that are too heavy and are bent over almost to breaking point.

Aah, lovely Eindhoven Airport again, where you have to walk through an entire shopping mall after security and are then seen as cattle, having to walk through a semi temporary gate to your plane. Or from, when arriving of course. #EIN

To the surprise of exactly no one; Russia has attacked the power grid of Ukraine during another very cold spell. Unfortunately power is now out in large parts of Ukraine and even parts of Moldova.

And the world? Still looking away. 🤬

Proof that it was really me that went up the Motherland Ukraine statue to check out the massive 16 meter sword myself.

Looking for a hotel that has their own shelter and preferably near to Kyiv metro in case Putin can't hold any longer and decides not to do a 'Trump ceasefire' because he feels genociding Ukrainians is just.

It's a sad, sad reality we live in. And the world is letting it happen.

From right behind the shield of the Ukrainian Motherland Monument you have views towards the south; parts of the mighty Dnipro River and Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. Clip from August 2025.

While the world is purposefully looking the other way, massive attacks on Ukraine are very likely, now the filthy goblins from the east get another chance at freezing Ukrainians to death.

In the early days of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia, troops entering from Belarus occupied areas northwest of Kyiv with the aim to make a dash to the capital and occupy it. (1/2)

It happened, the Indonesian shitcoin is at 20k per euro. I'm going to book my ticket this weekend, I need to celebrate this somewhere on an Indonesian volcano or something.

What's your top 5 longest trains rides?

5. Yala - Bangkok, Thailand - 17 hrs
4. InterCity Notte Palermo - Milan, Italy - 23 hrs
3. #100 train Bucharest-Kyiv - 25 hrs (soon)
2. Reunification Express, Vietnam - 37 hrs
1. California Zephyr, USA - 52 hrs

Upcoming sleeper train from Bucharest, Romania to Kyiv, Ukraine will be the longest I've taken in Europe, topping even the Palermo to Milan sleeper train last year. I will also add one more capital to my list of capitals I've spent the night while I'm at it.

Quite some activity of fighter jets over the skies above Eindhoven, the Netherlands now. Have been hearing them for the last hour now. Yes, we have air bases nearby and it's not very uncommon, but it's uncommon enough for me to notice.
January 21, 2026 at 5:26 PM
Did you know you can actually climb as high as the shield of the Mother Ukraine statue in Kyiv, Ukraine? It's two little elevators and then two more iron stairs, but it's worth it, believe me!

Time to dump those US govt bonds, EU! Monday morning first thing is fine. #Trump

Hey Indonesia, this is what you were waiting for right? My review of the compartment class / suites class on board the Argo Bromo Anggrek is coming soon. I've finally started working on the video today.

Coming soon! My trip on board the number 73 train from Kyiv to Kharkiv in Ukraine - the daytime part of the trip this sleeper train makes from Przemyśl, Poland. I made this trip last summer, when weather was still nice and warm.
