Charlie, Nathan Brimmer’s grandson, is the central character. The main story is set about fifty years after Behold All the Dwellers Upon Earth. Interspersed are flashbacks that fill in the gaps. Only his uncles, David and James-William, can help, but they haven’t been seen in years. #brimmerverse

It’s a Eucharistic hymn, appropriate year round (possibly omitting the final verse with alleluias during Lent). The Presbyterian Church (USA) has it in the Advent section of their hymnal, but their Eucharistic theology is different.
