It’s excellent that Starbucks added a green band to the bottom of their cups to celebrate the final days of the season after Pentecost (helpfully recalled by the splash of red). ⚓️

The Pope’s apostolic letter is SO GOOD. This is the kind of teaching, encouragement, and vision that benefits all Christians. ⚓️

The stained glass windows at Christ Church Glendale join me in praising Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords, on this Last Sunday after Pentecost. ⚓️

I look forward to celebrating the kingship of Jesus Christ tomorrow on the Last Sunday after Pentecost. ⚓️

For those who like to name your Sundays, how about:
* The Place Called the Skull Sunday
* Image of the Invisible God Sunday
* Righteous Branch Sunday
* Firstborn from the Dead Sunday

Today the President called for the execution of members of Congress, and the Coast Guard declared that swastikas are fine. I’m beginning to suspect this…isn’t…normal?

But seriously. Lord, have mercy on our nation.

Proclaiming “Jesus is Lord” was perhaps the first Christian credo... As authoritarianism, chaos, lies, and violence rise around the world, we who follow Jesus do well to join the martyrs who went before us in proclaiming “Jesus is Lord!” ⚓️

Having inwardly digested page 32 of the BCP 1979, I look forward to celebrating a big feast this Sunday — and no other title or occasion:

We’re glad to share a new product: The Booklet of Common Prayer! It’s a passport-sized collection of prayers to take with you — fitting in your pocket, it has everything for daily prayer, seven days a week. Take the BCP (at least some of it) with you! shop.forwardmovement.org/product/2700 📕

All of you people who like to name your Sundays (e.g. “Transfiguration Sunday” or “Christ the King Sunday”), what do you call this week?

Dreadful Portent Sunday?
Inwardly Digest Sunday?
Famine and Plague Sunday?

Woo hoo! I just won a free trip to Phoenix in July 2027! Kidding. I’m delighted and honored to have been elected to serve as a Deputy to the next General Convention of the Episcopal Church. ⚓️

Episcopalians, this is your occasional reminder that if you must speak of the "Ordination and Consecration" of bishops, our prayer book compels you to use the same term for the "Ordination and Consecration" of priests and deacons.

I briefly enjoyed the idea of having a functional opposition.

Not making rash promises now, because I want to read full coverage soon and have time to mull things over. But my (probably to be changed later) knee-jerk reaction is that I won’t be voting for any more Democrats. We need a new party.1/2

This is abhorrent, gratuitous cruelty. Anyone who claims to follow Jesus Christ should always be quick to feed the hungry. Deliberate starvation is Satan’s work. Lord, have mercy on our nation. ⚓️
