It may be unconventional, but this short album is probably the truest expression of myself so far. It means a lot to me, and I hope you can find a part or few to connect with. Thank you :)

Ah, *that's* what AI companies are doing. The business model is not geared towards making money from customers.
It's geared towards making money from investors.
That's why it's 80% hype-farming and only 20% building useful products.

Realizing how much of my love for future tech growing up was actually just awesome music and aesthetic design of the 90s / early 2000s

It's was always just cool art from the present 🀩
Well the idea is that with ATProto, Bluesky *can* screw up, and you *can* leave, without losing too much.

I hope this is the case. I still believe ActivityPub / Mastodon are far more proven in this capacity.
It struck me last night that the internet actually isn't getting worse.

It is still far easier to find great and sustainable resources than it was even 5, 10, 20 years ago.

Just because the popular options are shitty, doesn't mean that there are less options.
It actually isn't a zero-sum game.
They exploit like empires, they're narcissitic self-declared emperors, and they will fall as such:

Well this is blowing my mind a little. The idea of objects are more a (helpful) asbtract framing than actual reality, but doing so also leads to many incorrect conclusions.

"Think of a leaf on a tree as a process, not an object."

Basically because it:
1. Incentivizes choices that are beneficial for society.

2. Incentivizes choices that are healthy for an individual.

3. Disincentivizes choices that are not a good balance of the above.
I feel like the best "self-help" question I've come across is "What example would this choice set for my kids?"

(Not that I have kids of my own yet, but I've found it a very helpful spin on Kant's Categorical Imperatives.)
This is huge news - awesome work!

Introducing FlexOlmo, a new paradigm for language model training that enables the co-development of AI through data collaboration. 🧡
ah so sorry - I wrongly assumed the different URL meant a different org! That's awesome
Essentially using it as a learning tool, not a content generation tool.
I have found the healthy spot for GenAI in my own workflow:

1. Augments the learning of my Craft, not replaces it.

2. Is mindful of environmental cost, and whether the answer can come from a regular web search, or simply reflecting on the problem.
