Giants catch a huge break in the draft lottery. They finished the 2025 season middle of the pack (81-81) but will draft fourth overall. The order: White Sox, Rays, Twins, Giants, Pirates, Royals, Orioles, A's.

I’m told Giants third baseman Matt Chapman is in the conversation for joining Team USA in the WBC. There are all kinds of layers of approval for these things, so it’s far from a done deal.

Buster Posey on if he'd listen to Eldridge trade talk: "I think he's got a chance to be one of the biggest impact bats for the next 10 to 15 years in the big leagues, potentially. We'll listen, but we like him a lot." Added Giants can make it work with Devers/Eldridge at 1B/DH.

Giants hiring another coach, the highly respected Jesse Chavez, bullpen coach. Good hire. Knows his stuff. Knows everyone in the game. Played for just about every team. Should fit in well.

Good for Marco Luciano, who'll get a new chance with Pittsburgh, which claimed him off waivers from Giants. The Joey Bart path could serve Luciano well. Was out of options, and Giants had too many outfielders on the 40-man roster. Pirates love Giants' former No 1 prospects.
