MAGA talking heads on Fox News etc are saying this is a recruitment film glamorizing violent terrorism, bomb making and so on. In fact the film satirizes (not glamorizes) the violent left, AND satirizes the far-right. It shows the cost of violent leftism too. The right IS the villain in it though.

Best movie out there right now imo. There are absurdities involving Sean Penn's tented penis, bits of the ludicrous--but THIS MOVIE ROCKS. It's based on Pynchon's VINELAND. And we are all of us book-ended by the ludicrous. A roller-coaster blast of a movie. VERY politically topical. Must see.

The visuals may offer a little something to people, but the whole point is the subjective experience and where it can take you. If the visuals weren't there it'd still happen. If only the visuals were there--it wouldn't.

The pretty pictures shaped like typical hallucinations are not what works. Hallucinations or psychedelic visual effects, are not what stimulates creativity and freedom of thought. It's the way it feels; it's a direct electric stimulation through chemistry encouraging currents, and so on. Not images.
