also I strongly dislike leaf blowers. if you have to bother the leaves, use a rake. To me, leaf blowers look like more work and are less effective. And most of them pollute.

They keep getting away with claiming things they don't have. They don't have the right to do what they're doing in the streets with ICE. But they get away with it. Plenary authority can be evoked for emergencies and they keep claiming unreal emergencies. He's counting on the right wing of SCOTUS...

It's amazing how comfortably bemused we all are over the Trumpean fraudulent claims of war condition's of Portland and Chicago. No one seems truly alarmed. Unchecked, Trump's team falls back on non-existent emergencies (creating real emergencies for democracy) to roll unchecked toward plenary power.

That is, the DOJ/FBI will not pursue investigations against Trumpian militias or other armed creeps attacking Trump's designated targets. There was some deterrence before; there were efforts to prevent these people from acting in the first place.

I've been thinking for a while that hard-right thugs violently going after "antifa", or after anyone pointed at by Trump, is now way more likely as he has effectively destroyed the DOJ. Local cops are scared of his admin and some support it. There's nothing to stop rando hard-right violence now.

Had an interest in drones used in wild, unconventional ways for decades, used them in many novels and stories. Most recently in my sf story Sacrificial Drones in the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction a year or two back.

I recommend the miniseries BLACK RABBIT. On the surface a tasty, very dark crime-thriller about kinda fucked-up brothers in the restaurant biz; it's really satire of NYC entrepreneurs. *Brilliant* performance by Jason Bateman. Somehow feels like White Lotus but darker. Jude Law is great too.
