FYI :“Destruction of federal property is a federal crime. 18 U.S. Code § 1361 defines the crime as willfully injuring or committing any depredation against U.S. government property. If the damage exceeds $1k it is a felony with a fine, up to ten years in prison or both.”

NEW — I'm suing DC Metro Police for the full body cam footage from the DOGE raid on the US Institute of Peace back in March.

I try to resist speculation, but I don’t see how global technological developments can be addressed effectively without multilateral organizations framed under terms recognized in international law and more or less respected in practice.

My quick response: consent to research may be a human rights outlier in authoritarian regimes. But will a different international system be able to sustain unity regarding the ethics of emerging technologies?
