Happy New Year, folks!

@strange.website kicked over the ol' personalsit.es build a brief while ago, so it is the place to go if you need some inspiration for your new year website redesign. nudge nudge

I lent a hand reviewing and have manually checked every site listed. There are some proper gems!

My year was defined by peaks and valleys. Started strong at the beginning of the year and then disappeared for half of it. Glad I could end on a positive with my 2025 year in review.

Alright, it's a tad rushed because it was written in between looking after the kids and I wanted to get it out before the new year but here it is. Reflections on 2025 and the biggest career change I've ever done.

My favorite advice for blogging remains that you should hit publish while you are still actively unhappy with what you have written, because the only alternative is a huge folder full of drafts and never publishing anything at all

#Ruby lang homepage got a much needed facelift!

I like the illustrations, but the nod to #Rails in its homepage has me wondering. Are there many languages out there that seem so intertwined with a framework?

TIL creating a .github repository will share configurations across all your repos. Very neat! Thanks for sharing it @cassidoo.co

Representing groups in ATProto
I wanted to add book clubs to my GoodReads-like app (Collective), but ATProto doesn't have a standard way to handle shared group resources yet. So I'm building opensocial.community—a separate service ...

Why is it such a big deal that GitHub is charging for self hosted runners?

Presumably there’s still a cost for GitHub even with self hosted runners. There’s so much more than just the runner compute.
