My latest reserach @bjajournals.bsky.social shows standardized peripheral nerve catheter securement kit + staff education reduced dislodgement rates from 8.5% to 0.7%.

51.3% of patients reported experiencing pain while in a large public hospital in New South Wales.

• mean age 57 y
• 54.9% female
• 19.5% spoke a language other than English,
• 4.5% were of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background

Patients who experienced pain had twice the odds of giving a poor/very poor rating for the overall hospital care provided compared with those without pain (after accounting for all patient-level factors and ratings of doctors and nurses).
