"It follows, I think, that the luckier you’ve been, the more humility and generous spiritedness you need, and
the unluckier you’ve been, the more compassion for yourself you need, and unfair as it may seem, the more you need irrepressible resolve."

Temporal is at the bottom because you're saving the best for last.

Chrome actually only started supporting in in September 2023 and Safari 2022. I have a customer with some users who use older devices and had to revert a subgrid implementation.

"subgrid" | Can I use... Support tables for HTML5, CSS3, etc

I like subgrid a lot. Since it's so new, I'm forced to write a fallback @supports in normal grid, and then I'm like, why did I even waste time doing a subgrid block?

People keep asking @evanyou.me , "How are you going to monetize @voidzero.dev" ? Uh, you're telling me you can take away my ESLint/tsconfig/vite/vitest config pain? Take my money!

'scc' is so cool, thanks for introducing it to me. I'm at 85k Vue and 70k typescript, but 1 million JSON for test data. I'm sure I'm missing an exclude somewhere. Just inpossible to debug.
joshcarter.bsky.social
Yeah, I just left some projects on ESlint 8. It just wasn't worth it.

I hate hate hate messing with my ESLint/Vite/typescript settings. Debugging issues takes hours and brings productivity to a standstill. I'll switch when I can hot swap it all with the @antfu.me preset. Can't waste hours to save seconds.

I'm pretty sure it's actually just some big test fixtures that I can't figure out how to exclude. How do you even debug what typescript is choking on?
joshcarter.bsky.social
100,000 lines maybe?

What is javascript development going to feel like when typescript is in Go and we have rolldown and oxlint? Right now my MacBook heats up just linting and type checking my Vue project.

Coding with AI is like connecting little black boxes together. If you make little composable boxes, you can be really productive. In big black boxes, danger lies.

Started messing around with Basic in middle school, got a degree in Electrical Engineering from a California school, spent 10 years as a fighter pilot, then found a niche and built a startup. A tale as old as time.

I think we've all been there at some point.

There's lots of useful, free software out there.

Why pay for a solution when anyone can vibe code one for $200 Anthropic bucks?
joshcarter.bsky.social
Yes, vibe coded apps may have security and maintainability issues.

The bigger issue, if you're trying to sell that software, is that if you can vibe code it, you’ve demonstrated that it has no value.

If making it is easy, why would anyone pay for it?

Who is doing your s corp taxes? Any recommendations?

What would a Deno deploy Nuxt site look like that uses Supabase edge functions?
joshcarter.bsky.social
Generating a zod schema from an OpenAPI spec - it looks like there are a few options. Anybody got a recommendation? Preferably compatible with zod 4 because the number 4 is bigger than 3? Yes, this my first time doing this.
