I used to think like that, then I found out roguelites like Hades, in which yes you die, but you get resources to improve yourself outside of the run so next time is easier and you do more, so it doesn't feel pointless when you died. It's worth trying if you do like the combat system for example.

I did it! I finally beat Hades! It took me around 55 hours, many times I only did 1 run in the morning or after work.

This has been so fun, I never thought this could be a game I enjoyed so much, much less one I finished. I'm really proud of myself.

I know I joke about wanting the next book already, but we can't have that if you're not okay! I hope you get better and take care of yourself 💜

I used to try to dodge that to the sides, but dodging towards the Minotaur is safer, if the attacks from Theseus allow it. You got a nasty God helping him tho, not the worst but it left little space.

Advice my partner gave me: kill one before the other phases, and don't phase them at the same time. I usually kill the Minotaur first.

That looks like a fun build btw! But dw, you'll get more cool builds, and even win on builds you thought they suck... which is fun tbh.

🎂 It's my special cake and candles day you all have to be nice to me because it's been QUITE the year 🎂

So share some of my paintings??
In the pew-lined interior of a dim medieval church lit by rows of candles on tall staffs and pale sunlight coming through a window, a tall humanoid crow figure with flowing black robes and a glowing yellow eye stands beneath an ornately carved semicircular arch in Norman Romanesque style. On the wall surrounding the arch are many colourful murals depicting more humanoid crow figures with halos, carrying various items including swords, spears, harps, and chalices.
A painting set in a cosy shady woodland clearing on a sunny summer's day. In the centre of the frame, two figures sit on a fallen log mostly hidden by vegetation. The figure on the right has wavy blonde hair down past her shoulders, and wears a flowing white floor-length dress with long sleeves, with delicate lacework around the cuffs and neckline. She looks into the distance with a contemplative, sad expression. On her lap rests a small green book, covered by both of her hands.
The figure on the left sits leaning with her head against shoulder of the other figure. She wears a similar dress but simpler, and in a dark slate grey. Her hair is dark and straight, and flows down her tilted face, and she looks off towards a nightingale bird perched on a nearby branch. She raises a hand towards the other figure as if to get her attention.

Both figures are surrounded by various flowers. On the left of the frame are many spires of foxglove flowers in vivid pink and white, interspersed among green stinging nettles. On the right are the purple flowers of monkshood/wolfsbane.

Wrapping around the figures is a clear stream flowing from a distant pond that descends in a series of steps. Around the stream are many small mossy rocks, and shoots of dark green dog's mercury.

Above and behind the figures and flowers are two trees; on the left is a weeping willow with dangling dark green leaves. On the right are the branches of an old ash tree. A snowy scene in which a humanoid figure in long black robes with the head of a rook stands in a churchyard holding a long spear. By its feet is a red fox. Both are flecked with fallen snow. Around them are many weathered snow-covered graves. In the background is a medieval church of warm coloured stone with large rectangular windows and a battlemented parapet topped with pinnacles. Behind the main body of the church is the tower with clock face and belfry. Behind the church are tall but bare trees dusted with snow. More snow falls in the air. I'm very close to muting some words related to politics. As much as I want to be informed, and I care about people suffering due to lunatics... Sometimes it gets so hard to keep seeing things and reading them. And I can't fix those issues, but I can take care of my mental health.

Yes, but I think their logic is more like "everyone should share with me, I won't share anything" and that's sad.

That situation sounds oddly familiar...

AI: steals from authors, artists, and everyone. Doesn't give any of them any credit, didn't even ask for permission, etc. On top of that users say they are artists when they are just stealing from others, again not recognising their work.

Tech bros: you must recognize the contributions of machines!

Lol the Nobels can't even acknowledge women's contribution to discovery. But sure let's acknowledge The Machines.
Headline from an article in Nature this week that states "Prizes must recognize machine contributions to discovery. The future of science will be written by humans and machines together. Awards should reflect that reality."

I'm so so sorry to read this. I really hope things get better.

You're one of the first people I talked with here and you were also incredibly kind, the world is really unfair and shitty with nice people.

I was already interested thanks to those negative reviews, but finding out these guys also make Sprittea, Let's Build a Zoo, Not Tonight, and Yes Your Grace has made me go and follow them on Steam when I never follow devs because damn, they're cool!

First week of work done! It was rather good I have to say.

I'm lately seeing trends of "post a picture of yourself" sometimes an old one. Guys let me remind you that even although you set your profile so people need to log to see your content, people can still take your pictures, feed them to AI and do stuff with them. Do it if you want but beware of this.

Well, I missed my old "home" (aka a game I used to play), and it feels so nice to be there again... I hope it stays like this.

Personally I think another issue might be the lightning, it's too bright and the amount of lights make it very intense. The image feels very saturated not in objects but in colour/light and it can make it so things are harder to see/distinguish.

Mmmm, what about a SteamDeck? That way they get a good catalogue but in a portable device. Idk about the parental control options there but should have some.
